Vienna is the perfect Christmas destination, it’s a city straight out of a fairy tale book.

Vienna was an adventure for me. I hate cold weather and I don’t remember why exactly, but I choose to visit Vienna at it’s frosted peak: the last days of December and the first days of January. I loved the city, the people and most of all that fact that everything seemed to be in a perfect order. It was the first city from my European trips that I’ve considered living in (now the list just gets bigger and bigger). Still, the capital city of Austria will forever be to me the coldest place ever.

We arrived in Vienna late at night, starving, so as soon as we checked in at the hotel we went food – hunting. Imagine our disappointment when we saw that almost everything was closed. Mc Donald’s saved us, and since this is a city with a lot of “firsts” for me, here I’ve had my first Mc Donald’s meal outside Romania. I was surprised to see that every customer had an empty cup to fill with their drink of choice, and there was no queue (in Bucharest at Ikea I always wonder how many refills a man can handle … ).  Once we resolved the food situation we proceeded to sleep – a busy day was ahead of us.

Every important tourist spot was on our list – we had to move fast since no museum or other important attraction would be open on the first day of the year.

To  be continued …

  1. Haha! Am fost si noi anul asta, in ianuarie. E tare frumoasa Viena!
