| De curand am plecat pentru prima data singura in afara tarii. Daca era dupa mine nu m-as fi dus niciodata, numai ca, de data asta, a fost ordin de serviciu. Paris a fost destianta mea, un oras pe care il stiam bine (acum cativa ani am fost in vacanta acolo). Am plecat de acasa cu inima cat un purice, ingrozita de zilele ce vor urma. Nu as fi conceput niciodata sa ma plimb singura intr-un oras strain sau sa mananc singura intr-un restaurant. A trebuit sa imi calc pe inima si sa fac toate aceste lucruri. Acum, de acasa, spun un singur lucru: nu regret nimic. Ba chiar ma bucur ca am avut sansa sa ies din rutina si sa incerc lucruri pe care nu le-as fi facut niciodata in alte circumstante. Asadar, indrazniti sa faceti lucruri noi, cine stie s-ar putea chiar sa va placa! | Some time ago I left the country on my own for the first time. I would never have done this if it wasn’t for the job. Paris was my destination, a city I knew well (a few years ago I vacationed there). I left the home terrified by the days to come. I would have never even thought to take walks alone in a foreign city or eat alone at a restaurant. But still, I had to do it. Now, when I’m back home I can only say: I regret nothing. I am even happy I escaped the routine and I had the chance to try new things. So dare to do the unexpected, who knows, you might just enjoy it. |

MY STAY IN NICE, FRANCE

| Preturile de pe Riviera Franceza nu trebuie sa va sperie atunci cand vine vorba de cazare. Puteti gasi fara probleme hoteluri frumoase si confortabile, la preturi accesibile. Eu am stat 7 zile La Malmaison, in Nisa.
Angajatii m-au facut sa ma simt ca acasa. Desi eu ma descurc in franceza, e bine de stiut ca toata lumea vorbea si limba engleza si de fiecare data oamenii au fost extrem de amabili. Camerele straluceau de curatenie iar micul dejun a fost delicios. Nu s-au rezumat doar la clasicul croissant. Hotelul e amplasat foarte aproape de plaja, de centrul orasului dar si de gara. Am beneficiat si de internet gratis, lucru care este foarte important pentru mine. |
Don’t be scared to travel to the French Riviera, you can always find beautiful, cozy hotels, that come at a very good price. I stayed for 7 days at the beautiful La Malmaison Hotel, in Nice.
The staff was great, spoke good English and was always there to help us with our questions. The rooms were clean, and the breakfast good for a hotel in France. We always got to start our day with a full stomach. The location is very convenient: just a few minutes walk from the beach and the old city. The Train Station is very close, good to know if you travel with a lot of luggage. We also had free internet, and that is always a nice thing for me. |

| “Vara asta mi-am facut vacanta pe Riviera Franceza!” Iata o fraza care parca e desprinsa din filmele cu oameni bogati care se bronzeaza de dimineata pana seara pe iahturi de lux, cu paharele de sampanie in mana. Ei bine nu! Exista si varianta accesibila oricarui turist dornic sa vada cum este viata pe Coasta de Azur.
Cel mai accesibil oras, din toate punctele de vedere (cazare, masa, plaja) este Nisa. |
“I’ve spent my summer on the French Riviera!” Here is a phrase that sounds like it’s been said in a movie about rich people and their summer destinations. The good news is that the French Riviera isn’t only for the rich and powerful.
Nice is an accessible destination from all the points of view (hotels, food and beaches). |
